Point-and-shoot cameras have for a long time been at risk of being made redundant by the emerging smartphones that have solid, high resolution cameras, going as high as 12MPs. Regardless, these stand-alone photography devices are still around, and their image quality is still above what most smartphones can produce. If you do have an eye for spotting nice settings, you can take up photography as a hobby.
Having an expensive camera does not make you a professional photographer, but it does give you a fair chance to try your hand out at photography. Capture as many images as you can- of great sceneries, pristine landscape views, and objects, inanimate or otherwise. Once you have a collection of these, visit one of the many photo sharing sites that are in existence. Posting your images is usually free. If someone likes your image and downloads it, you stand to make some kind of commission from that. This in other words is to say, the more images you post, the higher the chances of the photos getting downloaded, and the more you stand to make. Photography is an art, but it’s also part science. If you have a deep passion for it, you might as well profit from it.
